Have Mercy Upon Me Oh Lord
May God in mercy not condemn
When God the judge shall judge all men.
When courts convene
With awing scene,
May God absolve me of the blame,
Nor know what’s in
The book of sin
When angels reach and call my name.
That unforgiven written there
Would fill my soul with great despair.
May millions there that here them read
Acknowledge justice in the deed
And may they see
And hear the plea
That I should see that good estate
And may one dear
Remove the smear
And be my friend and advocate
And may his council be "let live"
When God shall speak and sentence give.
May Christ's great arm of might be mine
His righteous robe about me shine
When I’m afraid
E’re peace is made.
Then shall I know indeed God’s love
My heart shall sing
And I shall bring
A tribute to the courts above
And joyfully shall shout the praise
Of Christ the King through endless days.
H. E. Crane
My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye
sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with
the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
1 John 2:1
And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it,
from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away;
and there was found no place for them. Rev. 20:11
