God Cuts The Knot
There is a little spot I know,
There I rest when the day is done;
Freed from earthly want and woe,
Near to the Fathers own dear Son.
Someone meets me in that place,
And wipes my worries all away;
He lifts wrinkles from my face,
When He stoops down to hear me pray.
Resting there I lay me still,
Contented in His peace and joy;
Thirsty? He my soul will fill,
The living water I enjoy.
He’s a friend my soul has tried,
He’s proven faithful unto death;
On Calvary was crucified,
And loved me with His gasping breath.
I meet that friend thrice a day,
There by that quiet beauty spot;
He is the Lord I would obey,
I would, I would, I would, why not?
Chained was I; My chain He cut,
I once was bound but now I’m free,
Feared the gate of God was shut,
Until I found Him on my knee.
